i had a bet with my wife's friend a few months ago on who could lose the most weight by the time she got married... so, for about 4 months, i ate good, exercised, and drank light beer. then when the bet was done, i gained a lot of it back. wanting to get back down to where i was, i decided to keep working out. the gym got boring as hell, and there's only so many days a week you can ride a mountailbike when you live in town. so i tried this place that just opened up that's supposed to be a cardio power yoga kinda thing, called bikram yoga. didn't think it would be hard, thought i'd give it a try, might do some good just to open up my mind and stuff, and at least that way i couldn't say id didn't try....... man it was kick ass, it was a great workout, it was extremely hard, lots of stretching but in ways that felt like you had been running and lifting weights at the same time. 90 minute class in a 105 degree room. really did do kinda weird stuff to the whole mind body experience, i really liked it. i guess i'm obligated to mention that i had to leave the room after about 45 minutes to get rid of some "bad karma" that had come up from my gut... it was neat, and i was scared about the next day, but i wasn't sore at all. i'm going to start trying to do this a few times a week, and i'll keep you informed about the progress and what i really think about it after a while.
